This is the debut release from a new Swedish DIY label, run by 3/4 of the guys in Assassination. But its not the debut by the band, as they have a couple of releases preceding this one. The first thing that comes to mind here is that theyve definitely gone for a different look; yellow overall is not the most common color for a booklet. But thats not really the most important thing, now is it
These lads takes on the crustcore genre and presents the old school Scandinavian style with a modern touch. Aggressive d-beat with some grindcore influences to spice things up. Its quite energetic and easy on the ears. Now dont get me wrong, I dont mean that its easy-going or some other shit, but that theres nothing that bothers me when listening to it. The sound quality is without a doubt good, produced by William of the Swedish grindcore heroes Gadget. The tunes are fairly fast-paced, with the exception of a few blastbeats where it really gets going. A rumbling bass, raging guitar, pounding drum and a screaming madman. To tell you the truth Assassination reminds me a whole lot of Bombstrike, and thats not a bad comparison. They have that same energetic aggression, and both vocalists sound fairly similar too. Catchy and groovy.
