As usual Bombstrike kicks arse, but why the hell did they settle for such lousy sound? If it was intentional, then it was a huge mistake in my book. It sounds like an old demo. Well, not a Bombstrike demo cause those have really rough sound, but the quality is no better than most demos. Its thin as hell, packing absolutely no punch whatsoever, and it sounds like theyre playing in a tin can. Not what Id expect from these crusties.
But if we leave the sound issue behind Born into this consists of the bands most depressive and angst-ridden material ever, I think. It has an aura of despair and hopelessness, which becomes even stronger when Kraisters tortured screams brings forth lyrics of pissed off fury, awaiting the end of mankind. And the artwork goes perfectly with this. Absolutely pounding d-beat with riffs reeking of death/black metal worship as well as hardcore la Tragedy and the likes, but definitely carrying the Swedish crust banner high.
Id say this is their strongest material for a long, long time. It may even be thee strongest and most powerful theyve created music wise, but as I ranted on about earlier it is presented in a way too sucky production. But you get the raging solos, pummeling drums, screechy strings, heavy breakdowns and screaming ferocity.
