I was sure these guys were from Poland, and I�ve thought so for about a month now, until I visited their MySpace page and realized they�re Portuguese! Which actually makes it a whole lot more interesting. Why you might ask, and let me tell you. I know tons of Polish grind bands, but are running scarce on Portuguese ones. The artwork is seriously disturbed, and the tray reads �are you tough enough for snuff?�. I doubt there�s any confusion about genre�s here, the goregrind genre is well established just by the cover. But if you�re still uncertain just take a look at the title for #1 and any doubt will be obliterated!
At first I was a bit sceptic about the CD, I couldn�t really understand the material. But after listening to it and really giving it a go I think I�m almost on the verge of grasping the concept of Namek. It�s like mixing Retaliation with Last Days of Humanity. Really muffled goregrowls and gut-screams imbedded within the music. A heavy and full sound of raging guitars and a murderous bass pushed forward by grooving and grinding drums. It can just as well be out-of-control grinding as a death metal-like groove, but always with the same gored-out sound. After a while of this stuff I�m about to claw my own eyes out just from pure insanity, and I suppose that�s a good thing for this genre, don�t you think?
If you love Retaliation then I have no doubt in my mind that you�ll love Namek too!
