Well this was a breath of fresh air. I havent heard such a vicious mix of hardcore, thrash and grind since the days of Code 13 and Spazm 151, and even with a dose of the crusty doom of Dystopia. The promo sheet says metal, grind, thrash, doom, punk, math, jazz, surf Whatever, Syzslak are rock and rollers with high spastic energy, and Im keen on fully agreeing with that statement. These guys and gal take the essence of pretty much all those genres, and create a tremendously powerful and highly energetic slab of mangle. All three members share the vocal duties, adding even more energy to it. And when performed with a tight and schizophrenic musicianship, and drenched with a heavy and powerful sound, theres not a whole lot stopping them.
Since the albums from 2005 I guessed there would be a follow-up on the way, and I would definitely keep my eyes open for it, if it wasn't for the fact that they unfortunately parted ways. But When Demons Ride Angels will be a future classic. Who would Jesus bomb?
