Antigama did not impress me with their debut,
Intellect Made Us Blind, and I was a bit sceptic about this CD 'cause of it. But I will never doubt their greatness again! Holy fucking shit. Such intensity and ferocity hardly ever gets nailed down, it's often only found at the live performances. I've never seen this band live, but if they can live up to even half the brutality they show here, I can guarantee that you won't leave their gigs unscarred from the raging moshpit. And speaking of raging, do you know what else is raging? Everything about this band! Technical musicianship, weirdo noise and badass vocals. This leaves me craving for more!
With such a raving review of
Antigama it's difficult to live up to the expectations for the rest of the CD, but with
Third Degree you know it will. It's also difficult not to sound repetitive by yet again using words such as
brutal,
ferocious and
raging to describe this band. But I can't help it, that's just what this band deserves. Great grinding drums, fat and metallic string-work teamed up with raging screams and growls. What else can I say?
Herman Rarebell are new and unknown to us all, but not for long. This band is a collaboration of members from
Antigama and
Third Degree, so you know it's high quality. You get served seven songs, of which one is a
Defecation cover. It's a bit more hardcore than
Antigama and
Third Degree. The vocals are worn-out and brutal-as-hell screams, with the occasional growls of course. I love this shit! And I'm looking forward to their upcoming fullength and 7".
Never doubt Polish grindcore!
