Out of the more brutal metal subgenres (excluding heavy, power, goth and the crappy likes of course) thrash metal is easily my least favourite. Sure, I can definitely enjoy a good thrash album, but it needs to be something special. The Fury I Hide is not that, its actually quite lo-fi.
The first thing I take notice of is the bad English grammar, with the title Heavyer stone tipping me off. And reading their lyrics I find such extraordinaire examples of bad grammar. Like for instance what is this new deimention? Last I remember I was death in a grave. They put me into a cofinn, burie me down with warms (the first verse in the opening track). Now thats some seriously bad grammar. But oh well, thats not the most important thing, I suppose, more of an observation. But unfortunately bad continues to stay in my mind, as the sounds really thin, with screechy guitars, a bass thats almost impossible to hear, drumming that sounds dish, dish, dish, and static as soon as the vocals sets in. It might have been acceptable for a demo, but not an MCD.
Most of the riffings very ordinary and standard for more old school stuff, with its few moments of shine. For instance the quick riffing in the early parts of Thrash attack is really cool. The vocals dont stand out either, and are quite ordinary them as well. Most of the stuffs screams, but there are moments of bad clean vocals.
As far as influences go I guess Venom and the early American/German scenes, whereas Demonized reminds me of Sepultura at times. It all sounds a bit young and newbie, like done by someone early in their musical career. I guess its not extraordinarily bad, its just nothing exciting.
