The Polish goregrinders Squash Bowels toured North America with Ingrowing. Down below is the report from the North American dates, Mexico will follow.

This was the first Squash Bowels tour overseas, so preparations should be long, detailed and accurate.Bullshit.Most of all were too busy with other stuff to put enough (or proper) attention to the whole organization side.We didin�t - this �scored� later with some unpleasant complications, but hell�we�re alive, so? Most of the US part of the tour we shared with our friends from Czech Rep. band INGROWING, so they are starring in this report as well;). Here we go.


15.05.08 - WARSAW-PARIS-NYC
Gathering point in Warsaw airport of F.Chopin.Our flight route is Warsaw � Paris and then after short while Paris � New York City.We join forces on the airport about 11am. (flight was early afternoon) wetaher is fukking nice, all is ready and and after small shopping and fight with service crew about gently taking care of our guitars we packed into small Air France plane to Paris.Flight was short and thats good � there is over 7 ours at the plane to NYC ahead of us.At the french airport short trip by airtrain to the proper terminal and another checkpoint � this time more careful control about personal things,bombs, weapons etc.Next 3 week trip will be plenty of those airport controls. Not only airport ones.Oh yeah, on the way i fucked up my pin code for bank card.Parisian ATM hold it so i left only with few hundreds $ in my pocket.Nice one dude.



We roll into some hell of a huge Boening to NYC and after short while we are over France flying to the destination point.Travel was pretty long and since time was �going backwards� we didin�t had a opportunity to take a nap or so.Instead guys were trying to entertain themselves with free drinks and some �whatever i can get� food.During the flight we had to fill in some immigration and customs papers � as usual there were some pretty insane discussions between us about how to fill them in.You would break your ass off from laughing hearing that.I bet people around did, hehe.This took a part of our time at the plane so moment later we are landing at JFK- it�s still afternoon the same day.What a drag.Since our US visas do not guarantee us entering the US country, we are quite nervous before talking with immigration services.Arrival hall with passport checking point doesn�t look like you are welcomed there, but we had pretty much luck � two of us didin�t had to answer any questions (dude at the counter was simply to bored to ask), other guys manage smoothly with questioning.5 minutes later we are gathering our luggage and without any futher questions passing customs check point.That was easy!One thing on the plane hit us and seems pretty ridicolous : you are forbidden to take on the plane anything that might be dangerous to the other passengers/crew, things that you can use to take hostage/kidnap the plane including glass bottles, knives, any sharp objects.Funny, when they serve you meals and drinks on the plane you get glass bottles and metal knives/forks.Regulations my ass. It�s 7pm and we are on the JFK airport.We don�t play the show tonight so luckily we got in touch with Arthur�s old friends from Poland who live in US � Marta & Piotr - we will stay overnight at their place.Marta picked us up at the airport exit and we were packed into the minivan.We are sleepy and tired, but finally there!



After one hour and a half drive thru NYC and then some, we arrived at their very nice house in Yorktown Heights.Their hospitality was amazing � we had a great dinner and spent some time talking about everything we can and believe me, there�s lot to talk about.Finally we fall asleep completely exhausted.Tommorow first show � New Jersey.




16.05.08 - NEW JERSEY, NJ @ HARTLEY�S
We woke up early and had a short breakfast.Weather really fast from promising, turned into grey mass of clouds and rain.Whatever.Since the show is no more than two hours of driving from here, we decided to do some shopping in the near Yorktown shopping mall and go rent a car for the tour.We bought a new GPS system , some needfull electronics, batteries and other shit necesarry for the tour.We are ready.Marta picked us up again and she drove us to the Hertz car rental office.Luckily they had a car we wanted to hire.So after dealing with all paper work we packing into brand new Hyundai minivan � looks fukking comfortable and drives very smoothly � perfect for us;).It�s rainy afternoon and we are heading via NYC to the other side of Hudson river to get to the club � Hartley�s Pub.We joining there finally our friends from INGROWING.They are in US from two days and all is well.Not much people around, but they�re gathering slowly.



There is 6 bands on the bill, so first one starting soon.Mostly typical slam death bands, nothing special.Sounds could be much more better, but we will take what we can.We couldn�t take our amps with us, so each show we are depended from other bands equipment.Not much people showing up, maybe only 50 people around.Tough.INGROWING playing before us � not bad show, but when they finished and we started installing on the stage we got info from sound guy that we have only 15-20 minutes to play so we have to hurry up.There�s some unpleasant exchange of words between us and him and we are starting.We shortened the set to make it work in 15min.It�s not bad, but you can hear that we are still tired after the journey and it�s just a warming up gig.Anyway, promoters did what they should.We are slowly packing and waiting for all the crew to be ready for departure to the sleeping place.When we leaving the club it�s already after 2am and both bands dreaming only about shower and sleep.Surprisingly after 40 minutes of driving around the town we are still not there and they tell us that we are going to the party.That�s it � Ingrowing and us leaving to the nearest motel.We have to pay from our own pockets, but hell, we need the rest very bad.


17.05.08 - BETHLEHEM, PA @ Home show



We sleep as much as we can and after 10 am we are leaving the motel.Weather is sunny and warm.INGROWING leaving to check out some music stores in order to buy guitars � those are incerdible cheap here compare to european prices, you just can miss opportunity like this.They have all coordinates for Bethlehem so we can do the drive separately.Soon we starting our first trip around the east coast, taking some country roads as well, seeing something more than just concrete higways and nearest trees.Landscape is very nice and we just start feeling like a fukking tourists, we take an icecream brake in some small town-we have a plenty of time.



GPS show no more than 2 hours of drive.So, we are there early, Bethelhem is about 100k inhab. City with some industry and quite heavy and poor attitude.Locals give us info about high killing rate in this town, shit � welcome to America.After checking few shops and hanging around local parking place we hit the promotors house � it turns out to be very young (about 20 yrs. old) crew living at one of the houses in kinda �white trash� neighbourhood.They are very nice and open.We hit the town for awalk and small recon, buy few beers , checking the neighbourhood.Soon INGROWING is arriving and early party is starting in the porch of a house.It�s cool.After few beers we are heading to the gig place � this will be typical home show and i�m pretty happy about it � i always wanted to play one of those!Again 5-6 bands so show is starting early, house is full of local crew and it�s a nice atmosphere.Don�t expect a good sound on the basement show, but be sure of really good crowd!Haha, so during our and Ingrowing set fists and legs are in the pit � good one!



After the show we hanging for awhile in local huge pub, but place is completely crowded and about 2am we landing back at promotors house � party is continued till 6am...For sure Bethlehem rule!


18.05.08 - NEW YORK CITY, NY @ EUROPA
NYC show was the one we were very curious to play � at the end, it�s a legendary city!We got to the club late afternoon � it�s a quite big and pro place runned by the polish guy,Show was organized by local NYDM so all was prepared in a proffessional way, people slowly gathering and show started early again � guess what, 7 bands on the bill � kinda typical here...



There�s nice amount of people as for Sunday � over 100 and bands are good too � especially young Buckhot Facelift (very interesting grind and cool guys!) and Mortician � Will hand is broken so he cannot play bass this time, but the show is good.INGROWING playing really nice one too.Sound engineer in this place is an old friend of our friends so we have a kickass show tonight;))).On the show we met another Arthur�s old friends who live at the Long Island � after the gig we drove to their place for sleep.



Next day � monday � is a day off, so we stay in their house as well.All monday we hanging out at the ocean, backyard barbecue and listen to the toons of jazz.Awesome chillout.


20.05.08 - PHILADELPHIA, PA @ THE KHYBER



Not long afternoon drive, thanx to GPS we found the place quick.Club is small, two floors, but very nice,divided to �drinking� and �playing� part.Promotors and bands are there and all looks set up.I go for a longer walk to check out the city.Looks very nice in the evening, kinda plain, so i like it.



Not much people this time on the show (tuesday), but atmosphere was great and we played very good show.All would be ok, but when comes to the money promotors sudenly says that they cannot give us anything � because of their costs.For us it�s nothing but rip off.It�s getting tense inside, so finally we are leaving to the hotel with no money for the show.This is not the way how responsible promoters dealing with lack of money.This situation have a result in Ingrowing absence on next show in Allston � they cannot allow themselves to loose money on 1200km both ways trip.




21.05.08 - ALLSTON, MA @ O�BRIENS



We met Ingrowing during brief breakfast and after repacking we hitting 600km road to Allston � which is infact the suburbs of Boston. We are there afternoon.Hanging for a while in local tattoo shop and streets around, later unload the stuff.Show started about 10pm and there will be 2 less bands that showld be.Again not much people, but there were pre MDF shows almost every day this week, so people are kinda tired of grindcore bands already.Tough luck for us.This is not a big problem � show is very intense and crowd is extremely active, so it do the evening 100%. After the show, we�re heading to the sleeping place � rehersal room of Terminally Your Aborted Ghost � very nice guys and cool place with couches, matresses and a shower!;)).Some of us stay up late night to watch some horror movies...Goodnight bastards.






22.05.08 - BALTIMORE, MD @ NOWAREHOUSE
Last two shows in US and both in Baltimore.First one at a place called �Nowarehouse� � with us 6 other bands incl. Old friends from swedish Afgrund.When i�m walking around to get some black strong coffee i discover incredible Jazz Bar which fits in the neighbourhood like fist to the eye.People there are very friendly, too bad i cannot stay there longer.



Nowarehouse place looks squated and realy nice.A lot of people, blood ,sweat and tears.We play last so it�s about 1am when we got up onstage.Show is very nice, but we are tired and right after it leaving with Ingrowing to the sleeping place which occurs to be a huge and quiet house in some nice neighbourhood.We drop dead.Next day last show at Baltimore�s MDF, so better get some proper sleep � it�s going to be a long day...


23.05.08 - BALTIMORE, MD @ SONAR MARYLAND DEATH FEST
Shower and a breakfast at the sunny weranda.What�s more to wish?About high noon we are leaving the house and setting up the meeting in two hours in the club.Squash Bowels heading to the two big music stores to check out the equipment and buy some stuff, also small record shop on the way and finally we got to Sonar.



The whole day we spent mostly inside of the club, watching bands, talking with friends and hanging out on the backstage.I did my part with the small merch stand so couldn�t run around somemore.Anyway, we played as a one of the last bands for the first night, place packed, atmosphere great,organisation even better.Almost every band is very skillfull and sounds very powerfull.In 95% cases there�s no question that those bands deserve to play there. Crowd getting more and more insane, stage diving, circle pits and whatever you want.FUCKING GREAT PLACE TO PLAY!After the show we got to the hotel about 2 am.Short mess with checking in and we are in our room dreaming only about dreaming.We don�t even have a strength for goodbye party with Ingrowing and some friends in their room.I guess we are OLD bums ;))).Tommorow long travel to Mexico.
