Hotbild - Vemod CD-R
Genre: Crustcore
Origin: Sweden Released: 2003 Website: Hotbild Label: - Uploaded: - When I got this nice little surprise in the mail I was very excited. A little note explained to me that this was the first serious demo they had done, and since I liked their earlier stuff anyway I figured this would be great. A pretty big change of direction for this band. Earlier stuff have just been pretty straight forward crustcore with the usual political lyrics. But this demo is all about angst. A huge step in the correct direction music-wise. The vocals are harsh and sounds very black metal. If he would just fine tune the vocals a tad it would sound like his screams were coming straight out of the Norwegian forests, meaning this sounds very old school black metal. The music's also taken a step into the dungeons of black metal. But don't worry, all you crusties, this is still crust! Fairly heavy crust with some black metal riffs. As you might figured out earlier the lyrics are all dealing with angst, suicide and everything there about. The last song is a great one - slow, with a whispering voice while there's a female singing in the background. This band is definitely on to something. If they just hone this style a bit they would definitely be ready for a debut release. Only thing I have a remark on is the fact that the guy is screaming lt mig f d (Swedish for "let me die"). There are numerous ways to die if that's what you really want! But this is a great demo. Looking forward to hearing more from this band. Tracklist: 1. I ddens vntrum 2. Varfr jag? 3.
